Joram Kok

Joram works daily on improving the models developed and used by Pelargos. Consequently, new creative ideas can be generated, and then subjected to a merciless testing program.

Challenging issues

Joram likes to be challenged by complex investment issues. In his macroeconomic research he is particularly focussed on the impact of macroeconomic variables on the stock market, and the role that timing plays. He develops hypotheses which he then tests with historical data. He also channels and applies the experience and creativity of fellow investors in open team discussions. Joram also gets ideas about potential correlations using data visualization tools like Matlab.

Analyzing and programming

Joram operates at the interface of investing and statistics. All of the macroeconomic implications are thoroughly evaluated and validated before being included in the model. Statistical analyses allow the predictive value of ideas to be tested. Before programming a change in a model Joram tests its quality with historical data. In this way he continually seeks to improve the models.
